PIONEER EXPRESS

THE OFFICIAL NEWSLETTER OF THE
APPALACHIAN WAGON TRAIN ASSOCIATION

SEPTEMBER 2025 VOLUME 55 NUMBER 3
Our banquet will be held at Hoss’s Steak and Seafood House, 4343
Admiral Peary Highway, Ebensburg, on October 12, 2025 at 1 P.M. We
will again use their private room and everyone will order off the menu,
be it a full meal or just a salad bar. Everyone will pay for their own meal
at that time.
I do need you to contact me to let me know if you are coming by
October 01, 2025 so I can let them know how many we have coming.
Please call me at home 814-472-8907 or email me at
awtsiscrosby@aol.com to RSVP. If I am unavailable, please leave a
message. If I do not hear from you, I can only assume that you are not
coming.
Don’t forget, we will have our fall meeting following the banquet.
We will hold elections at the meeting. If you are interested in running
for an Officer or Board of Director, please contact me so I can put your
name on the ballot. We are always looking for some new ideas from
our members and this is one way to help out.
Tim and Robyn Blanset are doing the trail for 2026. We will be
going to Hooversville. If anyone has a ride to offer in the future, please
bring your proposal to the banquet so we can get started researching
our options before voting on where we will go.
I am hoping to have a complete list of dates for next year’s
meetings at the banquet. I am waiting on a response from the church
on the hall availability.
Our congratulations go out to Crystal Anderson and Andrew
Gerber on their marriage on August 30th. Wishing both of them many
happy years together.

We would also like to congratulate Jamie Doyle on becoming our
new Wagon Master. He did a great job considering he didn’t know he
was being promoted. After talking to Jamie, he requested that I ask if
anyone has any issues for him to please contact me ahead of the
General Membership meeting so I can put it on the agenda for next
year.
We also congratulate Clairissia Myers on being promoted to Chief
Scout.
I would also like to thank everyone for all the help on the field.
Like they say, many hands make light work.
Now down to the business end of this letter. We have had to raise
our dues to $20.00 to cover the additional costs we are paying right
now. I will not be mailing out a dues form until the May newsletter.
However, the form will be available on Jamie’s website for you to print
if you wish. Just go to this website: awtwagontrain.wixsite.com/home.
With the price of stamps, toner and paper going up, I think it would
save us some money for you to just send me a note with your check if
you want to pay it early. If you have any changes to your information,
please send it to me with your check. If you have any questions, please
feel free to call me at 814-472-8907. I will also have the forms at the
general membership in April and June. For anyone that can read the
newsletter on line and I’m mailing it to you, please let me know so I can
quit sending it through the mail. Thanks for understanding.
Please keep Jim Doyle, Joan Downing, Larry Murray and all
members with health issues in your prayers.
And as always, please keep all of our past members and our
members that can no longer come to see us on your prayer list.
Wishing you all a safe, healthy fall and winter.

Thanks for another great year.
Sis & Jenny
